You are here: Summer > Hiking and mountain sports > Sports fixed ropes routes

The fixed ropes courses in the Erzberg discovery region are among the most varied and exciting in Austria.

Overall height: an unbelievable and strength-sapping 860 m with double rope bridge at the end.

  • Those with some energy left can continue an additional 15 minutes to the Rosslochhöhlen course (category E): an impressive and magnificent fixed ropes course through a 70 m long cave with some of the most difficult overhangs. Something for the true professionals!
  • The Kaiserschild action course in the Eisenerz Ramsau region is almost as difficult (category D/E). The landscapes are truly impressive with a 35 m long steel cable suspension bridge (Nepal bridge) at the top climbing section.
  • The medium-difficult Eisenerz course (category C) leads up to the Pfaffenstein directly via Eisenerz: an extremely good route with some very exposed sections and magnificent views of the Erzberg in parts.
  • The Grete-Klinger route to the Vordernberger Mauer is a model example of a successful combination of a fixed ropes course (moderately difficult with a C passage) and wide-ranging views along the ridge walk. The fixed ropes course section comprises about 1/3 of the course with 2/3 accounted for by the ridge walk and descent. There is also the option to continue on to the Reichenstein (overnight accommodation available at the Reichensteinhütte).
